„I’m way less serious than this interview is making me sound!“

Tom has a very inappropriate sense of humour, and there seems to be a strong theme of sarcasm and self parody in his nature. Hailing from London, it probably comes with the territory, but the easily offended might want to stay away all the same. Tom was quite a shy teenager, but he loved exploring the world and moved to Paris aged 16 to finish high school. With his A-levels in the bag he moved to London to study Russian literature, after which he got his first job working as a writer for the St.Petersburg Times in Russia. Tom then worked for the BBC and several other TV channels making documentaries, and it was at that time he spent his first prolonged period of time in Berlin, filming an architectural documentary about Albert Speer. He sort of hated the city as it was January, utterly freezing and he had to interview a bunch of Nazis. Admittedly this was probably not the best scenario for falling in love with the city. Returning here in far more pleasant circumstances afterwards, Tom was able to appreciate Berlin to the fullest. Finally, sick of London, he moved to Berlin at 31 and is now based here while working all over the world for Lonely Planet. He gets to visit the coolest and weirdest places on earth, which he is a total geek about; the stranger the place, the better. When Tom is not out and about travelling, he loves to read and to party. He cycles everywhere, he is obsessed with finding the best places to eat in the city and he is as sociable in the evenings as he is reclusive by day. By the way, Tom’s German is quite fluent. So is his Russian and French. By the way, Tom is into boys. The obvious question: who wouldn’t wanna date this multilingual stunner?

Sorry, Tom isn’t up for grabs at the moment – you can’t contact him any more.

But don’t you worry, you’ll find more Berlin boys here.
